Also those, who don't know the history of the breed, will see a clear resemblance between the statues of worshipped cats from ancient Egypt and abyssinian cats. The exact history of the breed remains still unknown.

The most popular story tells that soldiers, who returned from war from Abyssinia (today known as Ethiopia) would have brought abys home with them already in the 19th century. It hasn't been clarified how much influence the original cats from Abyssinia have had in the developement of the breed.

Character :

Besides the beautiful elegant look, the best thing in aby is the incredible temperament. The best adjectives to describe a typical abyssinian would be playful and kind. An aby will get strongly attached to it's owners, it will be curious about everything happening around the house, taking part to just about everything you do. Brave and social aby loves company, both people and other animals, so two abyssinians right from the beginning is not a bad idea.
